Armenian Feasts and Toasts

As is well known, Armenians love to raise a glass with meaningful toasts before each drink. The first toast is always for the gathering, saying 'BAROV TESANK' (Nice to see you). The second toast welcomes guests with 'BARI GALUST' (Welcome, dear guest). The third toast is dedicated to health and prosperity, with a heartfelt 'VOGHJ / AROGHJ' (To health and well-being). After each toast, Armenians say 'ANUZH', which translates to 'Let the drink not overpower you,' symbolizing strength. It’s a way of reminding one another to enjoy the drink while remaining in control. These toasts reflect the warmth & hospitality.
